You can get the data you have displayed on your RoadRelay4 screen downloaded into your PC for free (no additional software), if you have a Windows operating system. Hyper Terminal is a program included in the Windows operating system (Click here for information on how to install Hyper Terminal). It is a communications program that will allow you to download the RoadRelay 4 information to your PC using an extraction harness and series cable.
You can then generate printed reports of the RoadRelay4 data using the downloaded electronic files. To connect the RoadRelay4 to the PC, you will need a RoadRelay extraction Harness (Picture Below), and a serial cable (Picture Below) to connect to the PC (any computer/electronics store has them in stock). The extraction harness has a female, 9-pin DB connector that will plug into the serial cable . You must acquire the extraction harness and serial cable. They are not included with the RoadRelay 4 unit.

To Set Up the System:

1. Select Start>Program Files>Accessories[>Communications]>Hyper Terminal
2. The program will ask for a name. Enter any desired file name.
3. You will then be asked to select a serial port to which to connect. Choose the appropriate port (usually com1).
4 .You will then set up the port as follows:
Speed: 9600 Bps
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: None.

After connecting the cables and starting Hyper Terminal, Press the Pages or 6 button on RoadRelay4, the data out put will appear in the Hyper Terminal window. You can print the data or copy the data from the RoadRelay 4 to your PC . Save the file by selecting File>Save As. Then name the file appropriately to its contents for example . "RR4data.txt".
