Cummins Bridgeway, LLC has an immediate opening for a qualified Field Service Technician at our Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Branch.

 

Job Description/Duties:

 

Must be able to troubleshoot and repair diesel, gasoline, or gaseous engines, sub-assemblies and related components utilized in a variety of on- and off-highway applications, including construction and industrial, marine, generator set, as well as on-highway. Must be proficient in all phases of engine electronics, especially the fuel system.

 

  • Troubleshoot and perform complete, quality repair job on engines, sub-assemblies, and related components within a reasonable and expected time frame.
  • Provide excellent communication with customer and branch personnel.
  • Understand and complete various shop paperwork, including time reports and work order reports.
  • Participate in keeping shop area clean at all times, and/or keep company vehicle clean and in good repair at all times.
  • Properly maintain and interpret various product/service information sources including parts microfiche, service manuals and product support bulletins.
  • Successfully complete on a timely basis all Cummins required training courses.
  • Continually improve upon mechanical ability by home study course, service parts topics, and other schools and training offered by the company.
  • Assist in mentoring and training of apprentice service technicians.
  • Provide assortment of hand tools needed to do repairs, as well as basic electrical/electronic meters.

 

Education/Experience:

 

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

 

Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Basic theoretical and practical knowledge required for the repair of all Cummins engines, sub-assemblies, and related components.
  • Complete knowledge of branch and company operations and policies.
  • Ability to use windows-based computer software.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Current, valid driver’s license and CDL.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with limited supervision.
  • Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
