Power Generation Trainer

Job Summary:

Responsible for classroom training to distributor personnel for all CPG products including RV, Marine, Consumer and Industrial markets.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and structure power generation training programs to meet factory certification requirements for RV, Marine, Consumer and Industrial markets
  • Coordinate with outside sources to develop training needs
  • Develop, coordinate and perform training internally to technician workforce on new products introduced in industrial power generation market
  • Provide training to sales workforce on new products
  • Travel to branch locations for self training
  • Attend QTQ training, minimum 2 weeks per year
  • Reporting of training progression
  • Provide reporting and monitoring of Power Generation Virtual University
  • Interface with factory on further enhancements and improvements for Cummins Power Generation University training
  • Attend Cummins and Onan product training, in addition to other associated vendors
  • Interface and support key educational institutes utilized in the recruitment of Power Generation employees
  • Assist the Rental department in training branch locations about systems/processes in operation, check in, check out, change voltage settings, etc.
  • Close interface with Power Generation DFSE and Operations Director
  • Provide limited technical support to technicians

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or trade school plus five years experience in power generation, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Solid knowledge and experience in all aspects of service with power generation products
  • Extensive experience in both AC and DC electricity

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer relations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Pleasant and professional demeanor with employees, managers, customers, vendors and the public
  • Self motivated
  • Demonstrated high proficiency with Windows-Based software, InPower and other computer skills
  • Technical service knowledge of Cummins and Onan products
  • Strong electrical knowledge including industrial power systems
